Ten contractors hold 22.2% of Bend’s named permits

Bend’s recent volume was steady rather than expansive.

1. The City of Bend recorded 3,785 permits in the last 12 months, up 0.7% from 3,759 in the previous 12 months. That contrasts with Denver, where the comparable count fell 6.3%. Building work appears on 40.8% of Bend permits, while electrical work shows up on 37.8%.
2. Filing is somewhat concentrated among named contractors: the top 10 held 22.2% of named permits, compared with 14.8% in Denver. What does that concentration reflect—a durable group of repeat filers, or a period-specific mix of work? The counts alone do not answer that question.
3. Central Oregon Heating & Cooling led named contractors by permit count with 119 mechanical permits, followed by Pahlisch Homes with 117 building permits. Bend Fireside Inc recorded 84 mechanical permits, while Sunlight Solar Energy Inc had 78 electrical permits. Contractor names appear on 94.1% of permits, limiting the named-filer view.

These City of Bend records run from 2015 through October 13, 2026, and permits are filings rather than completed jobs. They are not linked into projects with measured accuracy, so the data cannot show trade timing across a project.
