What this search answers

Permits are searched across every covered market at once, and so are companies. Narrowing to one city is worth doing when the address is what you know: “Vine St” exists in Philadelphia, Austin and Orlando alike, and without a city the three arrive mixed together. Choosing a city also brings in the linked project timeline — composition, stage and locally validated next-trade signals — which is recorded per market and not in the country-wide permit index. Projects defaults to new construction, additions and other substantial work from the issuing authority. Use “All construction permits” for alterations and smaller work. Locally validated next-trade signals are marked separately and never inferred from a single permit. Company results show names and permit history published by each authority; the same name in two states is listed twice, because we do not assume it is the same business. A full company page is available only where the underlying relationship record meets the publication threshold.
